Wednesday's White House "gun show" was not a serious attempt to advance policy or legislation. It was a masterfully directed production that would have made Cameron MacIntosh proud. The choreography involved children who wrote letters to the president about the need for gun control. The White House used the kiddie wallpaper for maximum emotional manipulation. Democrats will demonize every Republican recalcitrant about gun control measures, in the hopes of setting up an electoral rout in the 2014 midterms. Once Dems have a majority in both Houses of Congress, Obama will have maximum power, flexibility, and ultimately the political domination he craves. That's what this is all about.
