AG Eric Holder asks us to trust him when he claims he knew nothing about the specifics of the broad subpoena issued for records of the Associated Press. Sorry, Eric, you have not earned our trust. From the very beginning of his tenure at Justice, it was obvious he was going to be trouble. Remember his famous "we are a nation of cowards when it comes to issues of race" comments? Then his department ran a botched surveillance operation that allowed thousands of guns to be walked across our border into Mexico, then used to kill federal agent Brian Terry. Oh, and let's not forget his decision not to pursue the default judgment entered against the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation in Philadelphia, or his legal harassment of states trying to cope with an explosion of illegal immigration. Holder is one of the most politically motivated Attorney Generals the nation has ever endured. He is a loyal foot soldier of the president above all else. No one should trust anything he says at this point, including this: "I’m not familiar with all that went into the formulation of the subpoena. I was recused from that matter. But I’m confident that the people who are involved in this investigation … followed all of the appropriate Justice Department regulations and did things according to DOJ rules.” Rules? You didn't know that the "rules" weren't followed in Fast & Furious. So why should we think the rules were followed this time Don't let the door knob hit you.
