The battle for the soul of the GOP--Crossroads v. Tea Party?
Posted by Staff

After Republicans lost the presidency and eminently winnable seats in the Senate, donors and party loyalists have been calling for the heads of those whom they blame for the electoral disaster.  On one side is Steve Law, the president & CEO of American Crossroads, the group founded by former George W. Bush adviser Karl Rove.   On the other is Brent Bozell, Founder of ForAmerica.org.  Both appeared on the show Tuesday.  Here are some highlights:

“We invested well north of $30 million in backing very conservative candidates. Some were successful… some were disasters… Our goal is to institutionalize the Buckley rule to find and support the most conservative candidates.” -Steve Law

“The first thing that comes to mind is how remarkable it is that these people are suddenly kindred spirits with Bill Buckley and Ronald Reagan…. Steve Law and Karl Rove should retire from politics if their goal is to establish the Buckley rule,” -Brent Bozell
