If you thought Rep. Paul Ryan was going to stand in defense of the sequester cuts to the growth of government spending, think again.
Check out what the House GOP is cooking up to avoid another budget showdown with Democrats. We MUST take power away from Washington, which means we reduce the government's ability to spend our money and drive up our debt. Ryan, once the darling of the fiscal conservative set, has needlessly assumed a defensive crouch vis a vis Pelosi & Co.
Again, I'm just stunned at how eager the House GOP leadership is to trust President Obama on major policy, despite how untrustworthy and dishonest his Administration has been. The abuse of Executive Orders, other end-runs around Congress, using his proxies to demonize conservative opposition--yet Republicans are now eager to give him fast track trade authority?
I am making a list and checking it twice. So far, it seems that the House GOP leadership is in favor of:
- Higher taxes.
- More spending.
- Giving Obama a free rein to give away as much of our sovereignty as he wants in trade negotiations.
As far as I can tell, they are working harder on Obama's agenda than he is. Tell me again why I should vote for the Republicans next year?
