If only the GOP had backed George W. Bush's idea of immigration reform in 2006, things would be different. If only Mitt Romney had not used the words "self-deportation," he would have not alienated 72 percent of Hispanic voters nationwide this election cycle. If only....The editors of National Review take on this knee-jerk and facile explanation for GOP losses coming from certain Republican circles and from the media establishment (always known for having the best interest of conservatives at heart).
