For many, the holidays can be exceedingly difficult—a time when old pains resurface as we partake in holiday traditions, which inevitably remind us of loved ones no longer living. At these moments their absence from such activities leaves a palpable void in our hearts. While there is an emphasis in popular culture on the cheer and joy this time of year brings with it, it’s easy to lose sight of those who are grieving. Having just returned to the airwaves today after experiencing her own loss, Laura opened the show up to callers who wanted to express their stories, their struggles, and what has enabled them to persevere during what is, for so many, a difficult holiday season.
Illegals to the rescue...for Obamacare
As reports roll in of California’s dismal Obamacare enrollment numbers amongst Latinos, it looks as though ObamaCare will require some substantial enrollment recruits - even if they aren’t legal. Without the necessary enrollment of young people and Latinos (who in CA make up 29% of the population) to balance out the cost accrued by the older, sicker patients, Californians could see their rates soar in price and their access to quality care plummet making Obamacare unsustainable. So who do you think the administration will turn to in order to bolster the enrollment numbers? With this administration it’s hardly difficult to guess… it’s only a matter of time before the White House makes appeals to bring illegal immigrants onto the exchanges - after all, Obama has shown zero regard for the enforcement of many immigration laws so in the words of Hillary, “what difference at this point does it make?” One can hardly feign surprise at this strategy—with an administration bent on giving American jobs away to illegals, why not provide them with health care while they’re at it.
