A low point for American journalism (and there have been many) was Sunday's pathetic chorus of "Did you beat Tiger?" shout-outs to the President. For days the hungry members of the White House press corps were left scrounging for any random tidbit
tossed out by the president or his press aides. For years the Administration that used its chosen media flaks to drive voter turnout, demonize Republicans, and promote its successes, suddenly put up a wall around the president's schedule. Why? Now a few journalists are catching on. They feel used. One problem: for five years they willingly allowed themselves to be used.
