President Obama attended a vigil for the 28 victims of the Newtown shooting Sunday, where he pledged action to prevent further gun violence. Obama promised to use "whatever power this office holds" to stop more mass shootings. Obama was light on the details, but given the pressure he's under from the left to use this tragedy to fast-track gun control legislation, one senses this wasn't just the usual empty political rhetoric. At the tearful prayer service, the president unfortunately but predictably implied that gun rights activists are somehow not concerned about massacres: "Are we prepared to say that such violence visited on our children year after year after year is somehow the price of our freedom?" This was one of many defamatory and unwarranted comments the anti-gun left has made against conservatives in recent days. They're back to their old demonizing, isolating, destroying game.
