Obama's meaningless Afghan 'agreement'

| The impeccably choreographed presidential drop-down in Afghanistan was undoubtedly a boost to the troops and the Obama campaign. But as I noted on Wednesday, the multi-year "deal" reached between the Administration and Afghanistan Pres. Hamid Karzai was all form, little substance. We could be there after 2014, through 2024 but there are no real commitments or specifics. Both sides basically agreed to keep talking in the future. As usual with Obama, the "show" dazzles while the details fizzle. Bloomberg's report basically confirms this understanding. |
