Approval rating for Barack Obama (Oct. 14-20, 2013): 43 percent
Approval rating for Bill Clinton (Oct. 27-29, 1997): 59 percent
Approval rating for Ronald Reagan (Nov. 1-4, 1985): 62 percent
Approval rating for George W. Bush (Oct. 21-23, 2005): 42 percent
At this point in their presidencies, Reagan and Clinton were both really popular – which makes sense, because they were presiding over strong economic conditions. Obama is not even close to those two – instead, his ratings look very much like W's.
