The irony just struck me. The (un)Affordable Care Act
, whether it is good or bad policy, is evidently failing to get sufficient enrollments from previously uninsured Americans to significantly reduce the number of uninsured. This was the entire reason for passing this monstrosity in the first place. The low signup numbers in this category is despite hundreds of millions spent on advertising, pr, exchanges, subsidies and a threatened penalty for not signing up. And recall what candidate Obama's core competency was supposed to be: community organizing. His experience was in "agitating" for the "social good." There was no real barometer for success, no objective way of measuring the efficacy of his efforts. Maybe next time we will actually elect someone who knows how to run big things other than his or her mouth.
