Obama uses shooting of Chicago girl to push gun control at SOTU

The scourge of Chicago gun violence has been a heart wrenching fact of the Windy City's story for a few years, yet Pres. Obama is just acknowledging the problem now? This is the rankest type of political opportunism and typical of this White House. Like the mayor of Chi-town Rahm Emanuel famously said, "never let a crisis go to waste." The poor girl who died at the hands of gang-bangers is victimized once again--this time by a political machine in Washington that didn't bother even mentioning the crisis until it was expedient to do so. Five hundred others are dead in his hometown, who didn't attend the inauguration. Most were casualties of the vicious gang culture borne out of broken families, failed liberal social policies, and an ineffective criminal justice system overwhelmed by the chaos.
