Media outlets and paper headlines were consumed today with the uproarious scandal caused by Robert Gates’ tell-all memoir, which promises to land a scathing blow to Obama, Biden, and Hillary Clinton. But the more anchors and pundits discussed it, the harder it was not to feel, quite frankly, bored. Enough already with “shocking” tell-alls. Ultimately, Gates’ memoir revealed nothing we didn’t already know. Biden’s a goof? Hillary acts on politics rather than principle? Hardly shocking stuff… The real shame and the true scandal is that Gates didn’t bring this information to people in 2012 when it might have actually made a difference.
Tapped in with Tapper
Always judicious, CNN anchor Jake Tapper refused to publically address the attack leveled against him by MSNBC anchor Ed Schultz. Tapper told Laura, “you can email me and we can have the conversation privately, but I am going to remain quiet publicly.” Tapper did, however, feel comfortable expressing his thoughts on the Democrats’ choice candidate for 2016. Tapper said that Hillary is putting herself in a dangerous position for 2016: “It’s never good to be seen as the anointed candidate.”
