The Daily Caller reports:
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has finally paid off all of her campaign debt from her 2008 run for president.
Clinton’s presidential organization spent New Years Eve making their last three payments — a total of $73,000 — to the Democratic polling firm Penn and Schoen, based on documents filed with the Federal Elections Committee Tuesday evening. The news was first reported by CNN.
Clinton once owed $5.4 million to the polling firm and her presidential committee debts at one time reached over $25 million, including $13.2 million owed to Clinton herself.
The campaign, now debt-free, ended the year with about $205,000 on hand — which could be used for future runs for federal office.
