Former U.S. president George W. Bush will become a grandfather for the first time.
Jenna Bush Hager, 31, one of the twin daughters of George and Laura Bush, announced Wednesday that she is expecting in the spring.
Hager made the announcement on the NBC television program Today, where she works as a special correspondent .
She and her husband, Henry, have been married for four years. He is a member of a Virginia Republican family whose father once served as Bush's assistant secretary of education.
The younger Hager served as an aide to White House staffer Karl Rove.
Former president Bush said during a call on Today that he's "fired up" about becoming a grandfather, and his wife said she's "thrilled."
