Economic jitters compete with Obama agenda

| Most of us have known this for years, but the "mainstream" press is just getting around to the realization that President Obama is just not that interested in addressing our long term debt or cutting the deficit. His priority is remaking America, its social structures. When the president is passionate about something, he devotes time to it, and can be convincing. He hosts White House forums on immigration, gun control, and gay rights--he invests political capital addressing these. Not so with the economy--the president only met with his highly touted "jobs council" a handful of times over two years, and now we learn that the president is letting his jobs council expire this week. Nice work if you can get it! The man has his list of goals--and cutting spending does not make his Top 5. |
