This is a heart-wrenching story--but a must-read. Overcoming obstacles, egos, corruption, bureaucracy, contrived outrage and nationalism will be necessary to break the adoption ban in Russia and Guatemala. Then we will need to work on raising awareness and breaking down barriers to adoptions in the U.S. Loving families who wish to care for and nurture needy children should not be denied--to do so is a crime against the most innocent.
