D-day landings scenes in 1944 and now - interactive
Posted by Laura
Seventy years have passed and most of the brave souls who survived the D-Day landing have gone on to their final rest. On June 6, 1944, British, Canadian and American forces fought some of the most epic battles in world history. They stalled Hitler's momentum, and ultimately changed the course of human history. Today, with all the challenges facing the U.S., with the pervasive cynicism about politicians left and right, our military is still among our most admired institutions. These photos help remind us of the great courage and sacrifice of the millions who answered their country's call to fight against tyranny.
