Boehner blasts Hillary for blaming Congress on Libya security, Inaugural speech
Posted by Staff

Speaker of the House John Boehner rebuffed Secretary of State Clinton’s repeated assertions during her Benghazi testimony that Congress was wrong in not fully funding the Administration's request for increased diplomatic security.

“We gave them all the money they asked for to make sure that our diplomats and our employees around the world were safe.” Again, he continued, this is an example of the White House "leading from behind," sitting back and responding only as necessary.

As for the overall tone of the President’s Inaugural address, the Speaker observed, “I’ve listened to my share of State of the Union addresses and my share of Inaugural addresses, but I don’t know that I’ve ever heard one in the last 30 years that was this liberal nor for that matter that was this partisan.” Rather, he noted, it “sounded more like what you’d see a President do in a state of the union than in a high-minded speech on the day of the inauguration.”
