San Francisco Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi is at it again
. She now says that the church cannot be all that serious about contraception because it "doesn't enforce" it. This follows a long line of her misinterpreting (or purposely misstating) Church teaching on key matters. Remember the August 2008 "Meet the Press" interview, famously saying that the "doctors of the Church were not settled on the question of when life begins? "[O]ver the centuries, the doctors of the church have not been able to make that definition. And Senator--St. Augustine said at three months. We don't know
," she told Tom Brokaw. This was startlingly stupid and/or devious. Bishops an Catholic scholars across the globe rushed out to correct Sister Nancy on her blatant attempts to excuse her own political views and pronouncements on policies that are in direct conflict with her faith. She likes to say "as an ardent, practicing Cathoilc..." right before she unloads some anti-life left-wing tripe. "Practicing" what Planned Parenthood preaches isn't "practicing" what the Catholic church believes. It is affront to your faith and basic common sense.
